Essay

The Holstein is a breed of dairy cattle raised in many countries across the world.

One of the sayings passed down from my grandfather, to my father, and then to me is that Holsteins always have white on their head, regardless of its size.

Among Holsteins, individuality also appears. Some leave almost no white, while others shed the black entirely.

Nevertheless, physically, the color white always exists.

And humans want milk from them, and what they give in return is also always white.

Then, what color are we, who live by receiving this white?

Even as we are colored with our own hues through our experiences and lives, it makes me wonder what that original place, the one that should remain indelible, truly is.
